What are things to keep in mind while visiting Racha Yai Island for Scuba Diving?

Things to keep in mind while visiting the Racha Island diving spot is that you shall be allowed to go in for a dive without an instructor only if you are a certified PADI diver or possess an Open Water Diver Certification.

You also must have done at least 4 dives in your lifetime and a minimum of 1 during the past one year. If you do not fit in the above-mentioned criteria, you shall be accompanied by a professional instructor at an additional cost of THB 1500(around 3450 INR). Also, do not forget to carry the following along with you while heading for the dive:

What are the Pick-Up and Drop Off information?

Free pickup and drop service shall be provided to guests boarding only from Patong, Karon, Kata, and Chalong. You can avail pick up service from the following spots at specified timings:

- Mai Khao, JW Marriott, Naithon, Naiyang: 6:45 A.M.
- Pa Krok, Bangtao Beach, Surin Beach: 7:00 A.M.
- Kamala Beach: 7:15 A.M.
- Boat Lagoon, Phuket Town, Cape Panwa, Patong, Siray Bay: 7:30 A.M.
- Kata, Karon, Rawai Beach, Naiharn Beach: 7:45 A.M.
- Chalong: 8 A.M.

You shall be dropped back to the same spot as your pick up by 4 P.M. You shall also receive a confirmation call from the operator beforehand for your Pickup and Drop.

What is the minimum age required to experience Racha Yai Island Diving?

The minimum age required to go in for a dive at Racha Yai Island is 12 years. However, if you wish for them to accompany you on the tour, you can do so at a discounted rate that shall be non-inclusive of the Racha Yai Island Scuba Diving expenses.

An adult who is not interested in Racha Yai Island Diving can also accompany you at a discounted rate.
