Pandavgad Fort is a small fort from the 12th century that is about 4177 feet above sea level near Wai. It was built by the Shilahara prince Bhoja II and taken by Shivaji in 1673, and it has a rich history. The moderate trek from Menavali or Gundewadi takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and goes over narrow ridges, stone-cut steps, and low shrub cover.
On top of the square plateau, which is surrounded by 40 to 60-foot cliffs, you can see the ruins of the Pandjai Devi and Maruti temples. Three of the original 18 ponds that are still in use, and you also get a sweeping view of Wai, Mandhardevi hills, Kenjalgad, and Dhom reservoir. The Pandavgad caves are located on the fort's northeastern side, about 300 yards from the main path.
