Chakrata

Surrounded by the sun-kissed Himalayas, the beautiful hill station of Chakrata is one of the most popular attractions in Uttrakhand. This town was earlier known as Jaunsar Banwar and was developed by the Britishers as a summer retreat.

Chilmiri Neck is another popular destination here that is known to offer you an enthralling view of the sunset. Chatkara is a famed destination for trekking, rock climbing,  camping, river crossing, rappelling, and Swimming. You can even meet and interact with the locals by opting for a walking or cycling tour.

Chatkara experiences a temperate and relatively pleasant climate throughout the year. It experiences rainfall of around 1734 mm per year. During winters, the temperature drops down to -2 degrees Celsius, and it even receives heavy rain during this season. During summer, the average temperature ranges around 28 degrees Celsius.
