There you’ll get to know the basics of beer, its history and the ingredients, all while gulping down its finest batch.
Head over to lunch at The Henson at Marrickville, which opened in 1936 near the football ground of the same name - home to the legendary Newtown Jets. Also known for its old-school interior and excellent variety of food and craft beer.
Post that, move towards another very famous brewery in the inner west- Batch Brewing Company. Meet the owners and get to know how they began brewing in a set-up of the converted smash repair shop. Do not forget to sip some of their finest brews as you compete with your friends over a game of cornhole.
Move to the third brewery of the tour- Rocks Brewing, an Australian-owned and operated craft brewery led by fifth and sixth-generation convict descendants. Here you’ll be tasting the kinds of ales your ancestors used to booze upon.
At last, head towards Central for the final stop, the Royal Albert Hotel in Surry Hills, since 1927, offering an outstanding collection of craft beers and ciders in a snugly setting famous for its "Tap Takeover" evenings, in which a craft brewer gets exclusive access to their eight taps and two hand pumps, a perfect end to an even more perfect day.
You can continue at the spot or can be taken back to nearby Central Station, whichever is preferred by your gang.
