About Churdhar:
The Churdhar peak happens to be the highest peak in the outside Himalayan range. This peak is also known as Churi-Chandni-Dhar. It is named after Shri Chureshwar or Shirgul Maharaj because locals believe that they lived here in ancient times. The views offered from the summit are unbelievable. The Himalayan peaks visible from summit are Kinner Kailash, Shrikhand Mahadev, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak and Dhauladar Range. From the summit you can also get the beautiful views of The Gangetic basin, Sutlej River, Shimla, Chail, Kufri, Kasauli & Chakrata.
About Churdhar Trek:
Having around three approaches to the summit, the one from Nauradhar is the most popular trail. Nauradhar can be reached from Kasauli within around three hours. This cab transportation is also a part of the package. After reaching Nauradhar lunch will be provided and rest of the day is at leisure. Most tourists opt for spending the day exploring this town. The Churdhar Trek commences soon after breakfast the next morning.
The first 1 km of Churdhar Trek i s a moderately tough trek with a quite steep, rocky and muddy landscape. Beyond this, the trek gets easy with a normal climb through thick forests of pine trees, leading you to a beautiful meadows, the campsite for the day is surrounded with the cedar and pine trees hustling softly as if to sing you a lullaby to sleep. The last leg of the trek is again a steep hike on moraine, since the peak is surrounded with a 56 square km forest sanctuary you can enjoy the panoramic view of lush green forest with Greater Himalayas in the background.
