How to Reach:
By Air: The Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest. It is at a distance of 269 km from Joshimath. Therefore, you cannot travel to Joshimath by air from Dehradun. You need to take the frequently available buses or taxis to reach Joshimath.
By Rail: Rishikesh is the nearest railway station from Joshimath. It is connected to Joshimath by national highway 58, and you can traverse the distance of 250 km in 9 hours using a local taxi or bus. Rishikesh is well-connected to most of the major cities in India by train.
By Road: If you are traveling by road, one of the best options is to start from Rishikesh/ Dehradun. From here you can either take a bus (public/ private) or by Taxi, which will take approx 8-9 hrs to reach Joshimath/ Pipalkothi
