About St. Andrew’S Church

One of the most popular places to visit in Darjeeling by spiritual people and architecture lovers, St. Andrew’s Church was built during the colonial area and carries that old-world charm that attracts an influx of tourists all year round.

The edifice is named after a patron saint of Scotland and was established on November 30, 1843. It was renovated in 1873 after a massive earthquake hit the area. Since then, it has become every visitor’s delight.

This old Anglican church is set amidst the mall area and thus, it invites a lot of attention of the locals and the tourists. It is recommended to dress modestly in case you are visiting the Church because the local Scottish people are quite protective of the sacred space of the Church.
